This letter is to inform you that the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) has issued regulations on management of tanks.  These regulations outline procedures for handling underground storage tanks (USTs) and above ground tanks so that they do not need to be managed as hazardous waste.

The regulations on management of tanks are available on DTSC’s Web page: http://www.dtsc.ca.gov/  If you do not have Internet access, the regulations can be obtained from:  Ms. Diana Peebler, Resource Recovery Section, DTSC.  Her phone number is (916) 324-4754 or (CalNET 8-454-4754).  DTSC is planning to mail a copy of these regulations and the accompanying statement of reasons to all CUPAs.
