UST Program - Upgrade Compliance Certification
Upgrade compliance certificates are issued by UST agencies to tank owners who have demonstrated that their tank system(s) meet appropriate construction and monitoring requirements. Tank owners are required to come into compliance with these requirements by December 22, 1998. If the tank owner fails to meet this obligation then the product is required to be removed from the tanks by December 22, 1998. The tank owner must then apply to the UST agency for temporary or permanent closure of the tank system(s). After January 1, 1999 fuel distributors are prohibited from delivering fuel to non-upgraded UST systems. Check the following links for further information.
