The San Francisco Regional Water Quality Control Board is currently reviewing an application for the following project for water quality certification under Section 401 of the Clean Water Act. | Project Description: |
In spring of 2023 the County began a design for a permanent repair funded by FEMA. The project has been expedited given that the road continues to be closed to residents and the slide continues to pose a hazard to the creek and to homes downstream and access for emergency and fire evacuation vehicles. A retaining wall has been designed and the County is now preparing to construct the project as soon as possible in Spring/Summer 2024, once the threat of erosion into the creek from winter rains has passed. A new culvert will be installed under the roadway, to transport flows from upslope areas, as a means to address the problem with a long-term solution. |
