Waste Discharge Requirements

On November 14, 1996 the Regional Board adopted Order No. 96-50, NPDES Permit No. CA0108928 establishing requirements for the discharge of 25 MGD of treated wastewater from the IWTP to the Pacific Ocean through the South Bay Ocean Outfall.

Monitoring and Reporting Program

MRP No. 96-50 consists of general monitoring and reporting provisions, influent monitoring, effluent monitoring, and receiving environment monitoring.

Technical Change Order No. T-1

This TCO revises the schedule for submitting monitoring reports and modifies March, April and May 1998 schedules for weekly and monthly constituent sampling.

This Fact Sheet consists of background, institutional arrangements, service area, treatment facility and outfall description, discharge description, receiving water description, basis for Waste Discharge Requirements, proposed effluent limitations, pretreatment and sludge, and procedures for final decision.

Addendum No. 1 to Order No. 96-50

This addendum establishes advanced primary treatment influent limitations for 12 primary pollutants of concern and identified 4 other pollutants of concern which will be monitored according to MRP No. 96-50 and will be studied further in the future to evaluate potential risks and health and safety concerns.

Addendum No. 2 to Order No. 96-50

This addendum establishes a new compliance schedule for completion of the headworks allocation studies for primary and secondary treatment facilities for the South Bay International Wastewater Treatment Plant.
