San Diego Region - Active Administrative Civil Liability Complaints

COMPLAINT R9-2009-0026 AGAINST COUNTY OF RIVERSIDE

On December 10, 2009, the Regional Board issued Complaint No. R9-2009-0026 against the County of Riverside in the amount of $612,591 for alleged violations of Order No. R9-2004-0001, Waste Discharge Requirements for Discharges of Urban Runoff From the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4s) Draining the County of Riverside, the City of Murrieta, the City of Temecula and the Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District within the San Diego Region. A public hearing is tentatively scheduled for the March 10, 2010 Regional Board Meeting at the San Diego Regional Board Office, located at 9174 Sky Park Court, Suite 100, San Diego, California, 92123. COMPLAINT R9-2009-0089 AGAINST COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO

On November 30, 2009, the Regional Board issued Complaint No. R9-2009-0089 against the County of San Diego in the amount of $77,800 for alleged violations of alleged violations of Order No. R9-2007-0001, NPDES No. CAS0108758, Waste Discharge Requirements for Discharges of Urban Runoff from the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4s) Draining the Watersheds of the County of San Diego, the Incorporated Cities of San Diego County, the San Diego Unified Port District, and the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. A public hearing is scheduled for the February 10, 2010, Regional Board Meeting at the San Diego Regional Board Office, located at 9174 Sky Park Court, Suite 100, San Diego, California, 92123. ACL Complaint R9-2009-00175 Against San Diego Unified School District

On November 19, 2009, the Regional Board issued Complaint No. R9-2009-0175 in the amount of $227,000 failure to submit semiannual monitoring reports required by Order No. 97-11, General Waste Discharge Requirements for Post-Closure Maintenance of Inactive Nonhazardous Waste Landfills Within the San Diego Region. A public hearing is tentatively scheduled for the February 10, 2010 Regional Board meeting. Non-evidentiary policy statements from interested persons regarding the allegations contained in Complaint No. R9-2009-0175 will be accepted through January 27, 2010.
