The City of Lompoc's Storm Water Management Plan is available for public comment through August 22, 2008.
The General Permit for the Discharge of Storm Water from Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (Water Quality Order No. 2003-0005-DWQ), requires small municipalities and urbanized areas to develop and implement a Storm Water Management Program designed to reduce the discharge of pollutants through their MS4s to the Maximum Extent Practicable (MEP).
The City of Lompoc has developed and submitted a Storm Water Management Plan (SWMP) to Central Coast Water Board staff. We are posting the SWMP for a 60-day period, during which, a member of the public may request a public hearing by the Central Coast Water Board. Requests for a public hearing must be submitted in writing to the address below by 5:00 pm on August 22, 2008, and must contain a summary of the reasons the hearing is being requested. If there are no requests for a hearing, General Permit coverage for the City of Lompoc will begin soon thereafter.
Water Board staff will post a Table of Required Changes for the SWMP within 30 days of this posting. The Table of Required Changes will identify changes and/or additions to the SWMP that Water Board staff require for recommending approval of the SWMP to the Water Board.
